Hi! Oh my gosh..this is my first blog ever. Like really, ever. I'm winging it because I want this to come off as authentic as possible.

I am SO thankful you are here and that you've somehow stumbled upon this blog!

My name is Rachel and I am an Ohio native that has transplanted herself in the most beautiful state of Utah. This place really is everything it's cracked up to be..and so much more.

But, don't worry Mom and Dad, I still greatly value my Ohio upbringing and am so thankful to have grown up in the midwest. 

If you're interested in how I made my way out here, I'm certainly happy to share.

In 2013, my boyfriend moved to Salt Lake City for his job at that time. I had always wanted to travel west but never made it further than Chicago... So you can imagine my excitement when the opportunity to visit Utah arose- I jumped on it!

As we flew over the Wasatch range and landed in SLC, I knew this place was going to be something special..and I was SO right. From that moment on, I knew I had to be in Utah..like permanently. 

I remember taking some pictures up in Park City and saying to myself "I have to find a way to move here". In fact, I think I have an instagram post from years ago declaring my love for the state and mentioning something along the lines of figuring out a way to make the big move to Utah happen. (Manifesting is real, possibly more on that in the future).

Well, as luck would have it, in 2017 my manifestations came true and I was given the opportunity to move out to Utah. What a scary, exciting, adventurous time that was. (I bawled my eyes out as I pulled away from everything I knew in Ohio). But, as we know, matters of the heart often override comfort of the known. I'm glad I followed my heart.

That last paragraph sounds like some sappy scene in a movie and it really wasn't. I would say only about five minutes later I was eating some McDonald's fries and hitting the highway excited for everything in front of me. I move on pretty fast.

Ok ok let's speed this story up here Rachel. We don't have all day!

Listen, here's how Utah the Label, my lifestyle brand, came to be.

I made my dream of moving out here come true, and now I'm starting my new dream of sharing my life and the love of the state with YOU.

I've always wanted to create a business that was original and authentic to me. I enjoy sharing my ideas with others. In my heyday, I'd heard the word trendsetter (yes, in reference to me) more than once, and I fell into a deep head over heels love with the state of Utah.

All this, combined with a whole lot of time, courage and not exactly knowing what I'm doing... I bring to you, my dear readers, Utah the Label. 

UTL is my lifestyle brand and I'm so proud to get her up and running!

I don't have an exact idea of where this will go, but all I know is that getting started and trying something completely new will get me farther than any idea bouncing around in my head will. I'm using this platform as an opportunity to share real life in Utah with you and anything else my brain decides to do.
